Graduation Day
This morning BananaMuffin graduated from "dattie dass", which, translated, means "cooking class". For the past 8 weeks, she has been attending Culinary Tots, a class offered by Terrific Tots, a unique pre-school program in Eastern Passage run by Cynthia DeBlois. Each week, she goes to class and the group of 6 kids (of which BananaMuffin, ironically, was the only girl) cook a special treat to enjoy. This morning they made Indian Naan bread, one of BananaMuffin's favourites, believe it or not, with hummus. Mmm. Last week it was a personal-sized apple pie. The week before, decorated Mother's Day chocolates, which made my mouth water and my heart melt.
It's nearly impossible to believe that she's old enough to "cook". But, proof is in the pudding, as they say, and this time I mean it literally! Just recently BananaMuffin has begun climbing the monkey bars at the playground, her vocabulary is expanding...she'll be 2 years old very soon! It seems like just yesterday she was born. Her little brother has started smiling! Everything changes so quickly. I'm too young to get nostalic, but there you have it!
