A Cyclist's Epiphany
Scotian, as I've mentioned previously, participates annually in the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) bike tour here in Nova Scotia. With the arrival of my new shipment of stainless steel sippy cups and water bottles, I decided to "retire" his dirty, road-worn plastic water bottle and replace it with a new, sanitary, healthier stainless steel version. He looked perplexed when I told him, "how heavy is it?", he asked, thinking it would mean no longer making it up the hilliest of hills because of the extra weight. "Eight ounces", I said, "half a pound". His eyebrows raised again in surprise. "Oh, that's light", as he picked up the bottle, completely full of water. "But I can't squeeze it, I like to do it like on the commercials, squeeze the water into my mouth..." I rolled my eyes. "Come on, your plastic water bottle is disgusting, the water tastes bad, and it's terrible for your health." He took a sip from the sport cap and again, was pleasantly surprised, "oh, that works really well, I thought I would have to suck hard, but you get lots of water with little effort. I like it."
He biked to work with his new Klean Kanteen on his bike and called me when he arrived. "That new water bottle is AWESOME. The water tastes so much better, it's light, it's easy to use, I'm going to send an email right now to all the rest of the bike team, they've gotta check this out."
I have to say, I wasn't shocked he was so happy, I knew he would be, and now everywhere he goes, he's singing the praises of a Klean Kanteen water bottle!Labels: Klean Kanteen
