Reuse At It's Best
Today, I became the proud owner of a fantastic cork board message centre made by Kevin of Knotty Woodworks, located in the Annapolis Valley. I stumbled upon his work at the home of one my customers, who are friends of Kevin, and had a similar piece hanging in their kitchen. I have to say, I was smitten :)
Kevin's cork boards are made of whole corks, each one having had a previous life in a bottle of wine. The wood is largely salvaged, which I love! He told me he finds a lot of it as driftwood, having washed up on the beach after a long voyage at sea.
My cork board was delivered and installed this morning by Kevin and his partner Jeanine, who also makes beautiful sterling silver jewellery.
What a fantastic way to keep my kitchen organized!
