When Socks Develop a Life of Their Own!

This past weekend, my long-time girl friend Michelle (from all the way back in Grade 2 - we're talking early 1980s here!) was visiting her family in Sackville, so Spunky, BananaMuffin and I decided to take a little road trip to the "Old Stomping Grounds" and pay her a visit. She is expecting her first baby in February, and it's always fun to see your friends while they're busy growing little people. Pregnancies are so exciting, fun, and full of "firsts", it's an event you want to share with everyone! She looks phenomenal, and is very happy, so that was wonderful to see.
We got chatting about natural toys and wool - of course - and she mentioned that her mother-in-law knits beautiful wool socks, but one pair in particular made it into a hot load of laundry and came out a bit too petite for either her or her husband to wear, so she whipped out the sewing machine and the creativity that only Michelle can muster, and created this beautiful sock monkey, lounging happily on the couch.
Recycling at it's best!
