Introducing Jonah

While we were on vacation, we did a little driving. Well, Scotian did a little driving, and I did a little of what I like to call "passenging". This gives me time to "work" on crafts that I otherwise don't have time to do. What could be more perfect than being restrained by a seat belt to get the creative juices flowing, I ask you?

In that time on the road, I finally finished my third Waldorf doll - Jonah. He was originally intended for my niece, a redheaded little boy to match her willful personality, but when I showed her "Jonah in progress", she was less than enthusiastic, and I noticed that most of her dolls were much smaller, so I have decided to adopt Jonah to a new family.

I was so pleased at how his flaming red hair turned out, a mix of merino, mohair, cotton, and boucle yarns, added one painstaking strand at a time. And, his cute brown freckles make him so cuddly and loveable.

Jonah, born on the highways of Nova Scotia!
