LOV'IN LONGIES

Hi Everyone! It's Becky here...and I have managed to hack into April's blog. I've met some of you, and I am looking forward to meeting more of you. I'm really excited to be part of the Nurtured team. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a Mum of a ten month old little human bunny. I found Nurtured through a friend, and initially tried cloth to try and deal with severe diaper rash after my daughter spent 3 weeks in an incubator (she was 7 weeks early). I now have quite a collection of cloth diapers, and I have also been practicing ECing (early infant potty training), in conjunction with cloth, since my daughter was 3 months old.

My all time favorite diaper are Sugar Peas Hemp Fitted Diapers. My bunny is susceptible to rash, so I have found that April's remedy of Bum Bum balm, a hemp diaper, and a wool cover will do wonders. My little bunny also spends a lot of time without a diaper, so I can get her on a potty quickly. This has worked well over the summer, but I've been struggling to figure out what to do as winter approaches. I can't very well leave her naked and diaperless year round!

I live in a 100 year old half cape up along the Eastern Shore. No matter how warm our house is, our floors are freezing. With my little bunny crawling and spending a lot of time on our cold floors, I've been wondering how I will keep her warm. Well, I was talking to April about this and she mentioned that she was getting in some Aristrocrats Longies. I had actually heard about these, from another Mom, who swears by them, so I was curious to try them. When I first saw them, I was a bit skeptical, but once I put them on my bunny, I was sold. Longies are a wool diaper cover and wool pants, all in one. So no more taking pants and a cover off/on, the Longies make this one step. I know how warm they keep her, which makes me so happy. I don't have to spent the morning being worried that she is freezing. They can be worn very high up so that vital organs are also kept warm, or you can fold them down for a more traditional look. Thank you Longies! You are my new obsession! We will use these all winter, around the house, and out and about on chilly days. Best of all, made in Canada, and my husband likes them too!
