Fiona and the Kids
The second of a family of three dolls is all finished up, with her hair, dress, panties, and shoes all assembled. I have to say, I'm quite taken with how she turned out - her hair is of a mohair that varies in shade from true brown to auburn, and makes beautiful mohair highlights. If Charlotte is the athletic member of the family, Fiona is definitely the fashionista!
I also had an email from Stacey, who had previously sent a photo of her first doll showing off her second creation - a baby doll for her son! She asked for photos of what I've been up to, so I lined up all of my "kids" on the fireplace mantel (BananaMuffin has taken such a shine to Marcus that it's been hard to get him out of her arms long enough to take his picture), but here are all of my babies, from left to right - "Girl", Charlotte, Fiona, Jonah and Marcus. In order of creation, they start with Marcus, then Girl, Jonah, Charlotte and Fiona. If you look closely, Marcus doesn't have a nose. I'm still not happy about it and contemplated taking him apart and putting one on, but I know I'll get a scolding from both Scotian and The Wool Fairy for even suggesting it.
There's a little boy coming next, he's got a head, legs, body and nose - I just have to sit down and put all of the pieces together. Stay tuned!Labels: wool
