Magnus

I think I'm done doll making for the season...maybe. In the back of my mind I still want to do a little doll for a friend, or rather the friend's little one, and I'm still helping Becky with her own little doll, but other than that, Magnus was my last "big" doll to complete the triplets.

He may have been the last but he's one of my favourites, and Spunky took a real liking to him too, so I may have to do one similar just for him. BananaMuffin has become quite attached to Marcus, who was originally made for Spunky's first birthday, so perhaps Spunky deserves a new little dude in his life...maybe for his second birthday.

Magnus' hair is amazing to me - I bought the wool this past summer at the farmer's market in Sackville, New Brunswick. It was hand washed, carded, dyed and spun by Dee Milliken in nearby Dorchester. When I spoke to Dee, she told me she dyed it using dandelion, mallow and tansy collected from the Tantramar Marshes. This has such significance to me as the house I grew up in overlooks the Marshes, and every time I visit, I forget how wonderful the view is across the flat lands looking out toward Point-de-Bute and Mount Whatley to the East and Mount View to the South.

The "triplets" have all gone home to their family for Christmas, but I hope their mom and dad will send photos of the dolls in the hands of the little ones they were created for.
