How To Enter
It's been a busy December. This is the first year in my memory that I have been able to relate when people say this is a "busy" time of year. Previously, we've been busy with parties, getting ready for Christmas, visiting family, and of course, working (both Scotian and I have jobs that are very busy at this time of year). This is the first year on record that I have felt like the time is passing a little too quickly and I seem to be getting just too little accomplished. I am REALLY glad that I began any of my handmade gifts back in September, as I certainly don't have a spare moment now though I am trying to squeeze in a couple of last minute projects - it feels a bit like I'm cramming for exams with excessive amounts of tea (which I never drank before I went to university - my friend Richard from Barbados got me started on it when I just couldn't get past the awful taste of coffee but felt like I needed some little jolt to get me through a semester of six courses!)
I haven't posted a proper post here in a number of weeks, and I'm ashamed to say that I didn't get around to a December giveaway, but rest assured they will be back in the New Year along with some really, really BIG changes at Nurtured - the first of which is that we're working on a new checkout system for our local customers. We hope this will be up and running in January or February. We're also clearing out some of our products so that we can bring you a new lineup of really cool, interesting, unique and of course, environmentally friendly items for your family. It's time to change it up a bit!
I also wanted to mention, as some of you have asked, that I did manage to finish the "necklet" I was knitting for my Mom's Christmas gift. My stitches got worse as time went on - I'm not sure knitting is for me. It is wrapped and under her Christmas tree right now. I didn't take a photo after I finished it, but perhaps if I'm lucky she'll model it for me!
I was also asked recently by a blog reader how exactly do you enter the giveaways that we have. It's easy: just leave a comment on the blog. Anything - say hello, tell us what's new, what you're up to, what you're thinking, anything. If you're posting as "anonymous", please leave your name or an email or some clue as to how we can contact you if you are the winner. Margaret tells me that she has our permission to throw her name out of the running if she happens to win a third time in a row ;)
Last but not least, as much as I hope this won't be my last blog post before Christmas, I wanted to say thank you so much for your support this year! I read an article in Vanity Fair on the weekend on Tina Fey, one of her statements was so true - she mentioned that the first year after having a baby, it feels like someone is hitting you in the face with a hammer every single day. I know I certainly felt that way. Now that Spunky is almost 2 years old, I feel like I can juggle everything a little more easily now and can put more attention to Nurtured.
This year's SavvyMom Regional Win was really exciting for me personally - the award was wonderful, of course, but what made me even happier was the number of cards, well-wishes, congratulations and kind words I received after the win. I can't thank you enough for your kindness and support. I really love what I do and I hope that it shows, and the fact that I know many of you by name, face, and a good chat means so much to me. Nurtured really does have the best customers in the world. Thank you.
Happy Holidays to all of you - may some restful days with your family be ahead, I wish you all wonderful things for the year ahead!
