The Last Doll of 2008

On the 21st of December, I stayed up well into the night, listening to the snow storm howl outside, while I assembled and sewed this little doll to go out in the mail the next morning. My good friend Michelle, who I've known since Grade 2, has a little boy who was celebrating his first Christmas. Every little boy needs a cuddly for their first Christmas, don't they? Since I was woefully inadequate with Michelle's birthday gift this year, I hope that this doll will make up for it. I never name the dolls ahead of time, I wait until their hair is being sewn on and then they just sort of "tell" me what their names are. This little guy is Andrew. I finished him at about 1 am on December 22nd, and put him in the mailbox across the street, ready for pick up that morning. I hoped with all of my might that Canada Post would be expedient and have the package delivered to Michelle's parents house in Sackville, New Brunswick before Christmas Eve. I have faith in Canada Post ;) They delivered, and her little guy had Andrew to unwrap Christmas morning, my 8th doll of the year.
His hair is the sandy mix of yarns that Becky traded me for Allie's hair. I love it, it's perfect for Andrew!
Happy New Year Everyone!
