The People In Your Neighbourhood

This past Sunday, we all took a much needed day off for some local geocaching with the kids, which they always enjoy. We started out at Hemlock Ravine park, but found that the trails were still very icy, so we decided to try Point Pleasant Park instead. While out walking, we met a nice couple, Tim and Heidi, who wanted to take our photo for a project they're working on called Celebrate Canada 2010. They are from Alberta, where they started their cross-Canada journey six months ago and told us they had six months to go. They are working a photo documentary of life in Canada. What a great project, we all thought!

Spunky's photo made the "faces of the day" page, and we all made it to the hallowed halls of a day in the life of an average Canadian family.

For the record, if you read The Wool Fairy's blog, you'll know that on our road trip to pick up the cash counter for the store, we stopped in at Have a Yarn in Mahone Bay where I bought Perl Grey's Elmira knitting kit for a hat and fingerless gloves, which I happened to be wearing when the photo was taken.

The cash counter has been moved over to the store, and today I put 6 full coats of white paint on it to try and cover the navy blue it had been painted previously. I must say it looks stunning but it has been a lot of work. My knees agree.

Tomorrow is clean up day, and the shelves will be stocked very soon. It's been a busy time and I'm glad I took the time Sunday to enjoy a day out with my family and take a little break from the hectic-ness of life and meet some very interesting people. A day well spent.
