Bliss In Clothesline Form
I actually beamed with delight the morning I washed all of my new fabrics and hung them out to dry in the spring morning sun while the kids played in the sand box for a few minutes before heading off to "school".
The fabric sat in a heap for a couple of days until I could squeeze out a spare moment to iron them, and there is something very perplexing about a stack of ready-to-use fabric that is simultaneously decorative (I can't bear to cut it!) and inviting (I can't wait to use it!)
I transported my stack with me to Scotian's family cottage, where, after the kids were tucked in bed after a long day of running around on the beach and enjoying time with their Bubby and BubbyDache, I layered four fabrics at a time and cut out enough shapes for 24 birds. By midnight, I was zonked, so that's as far as I got.
This week, on the occasional evening, I've started sewing these adorable little birds, stuffing them with wool. They're impossibly cute, I want to make a decorative bird-branch for both of the kids' rooms, the kitchen, and possibly give some to friends as well. I love things that take 5 minutes or less to sew. Perfect. I'm prone to short bursts of "craftness" so it's perfect for a person like me.
Off to the market now...see you at the store!
