A Grand, Grand Opening

A big thank you to all of you who came out to celebrate Nurtured, enjoy some wonderful music by (two-thirds of) Grassmarket (thank you again, Dan and Penelope), some delicious food by Local Source Market (near the corner of Agricola & Charles - they make the best sandwiches I have ever eaten) and enjoy the company of the largest number of cloth-diapering-babywearing families I have ever seen congregated in one place at one time! It was wonderful.

It was incredibly busy, and Scotian popped in with BananaMuffin and Spunky for a few minutes, along with my parents-in-law who were newly returned from a winter in Florida. Scotian snapped a few photos, but it was so packed (!) inside the store, it was hard to actually move around! Amazing!

It was touching to see the show of support and the well-wishes. It was wonderful to re-connect with some of my very first customers, whom I met over three years ago when Nurtured was literally being operated from my dining room table! It really is amazing how times have changed!

Dawn and Sarah of MAC Interior Design, who helped me put the store together, dropped by to see the end results of our collaboration, Jennifer Corson, whom I have LONG admired for her dedication to sustainable design and entrepreneurship skills, dropped by and I was FINALLY able to meet her in person. Of course, so many friends, customers, acquaintances, colleagues, and folks I have never met came by as well, and I appreciate every single person who took time out their weekend to celebrate with us. We all had a great time!

Thank you to Karen, Annie and Becky who worked very hard keeping customers served, the cash tended and helping to make everything run so smoothly!

Happy Mother's Day!
