Catch Ups

This week plowed into me like a ton of bricks, breathless and unsure how to manage it all, but now that it's Friday, I can look forward to some time with friends and family. My best friend since elementary school is in town this weekend, and although we won't have much time together, I am really looking forward to spending Saturday morning having tea with her, catching up.

Last Sunday, we went to brunch. Something we hadn't done for precisely one year when May, a friend I met through Nurtured, invited us and Becky's family over for what we've since dubbed "the most delicious meal ever", snuggled up by their wood stove, we ate food so delicious I could hardly stand it. So good. I can't believe a whole year went by.

Becky played host this time around, inviting us to her house along with May's family and Anastasia's family. You may remember Anastasia as the former owner of Anointment Natural Skin Care, who has been carefully training me to make the skin care products now that I've taken over. Never idle, Anastasia is whipping up an organic frenzy in her kitchen and can be found back at the farmer's market selling her baked goods - date squares, people, you need to try her date squares!

Becky and her husband are building a new house overlooking Chezzetcook inlet. We hiked up the hill to their building site, sat on top of the big pile of dirt, imagining the sun streaming in the second floor of their new home. It's so beautiful, so peaceful. Their home will be beautiful and I'm so happy that this has finally come about for them - it has been in the works a long time!

And no trip to Becky's is complete without a beach visit, regardless of the season.

Remember this little baby (February 4, 2008) snuggled into her mama's shoulders in her BabyHawk Mei Tai? Time flies...
